Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the marathon program be?

Long enough for you to become obsessed about running and tell everyone you are doing a marathon! It will occupy your every waking thought and conversation which is why you need me - someone just as obsessed

If its your first marathon, think somewhere in the region of 18 to 20 weeks...if you already have the badge of honour then anywhere between 8 and 16 weeks would be typical

How do I know if i'm ready for a marathon?

Life is not about being sure, challenge yourself to grow

Jump in, go steady & consistent and you will be amazed at what you can do

We will figure out all the minor details over the weeks and months of training

How many days a week will I be running?

More than 1 and less then 7

Everything else we slot into whatever you have got going on in your life - wait, you wont have a life when you are marathon training

What equipment will I need?

3 bags of consistency and a "I will do this" attitude

The rest is easy to sort out - mind you I didn't say cheap, but compared to triathlon its a drop in the ocean

How do i get my training plan?

Roll out of bed, slip into your running gear, switch on your watch and it will magically be there, telling you to get moving

What if I want a running partner?

If no one else is willing then I'm like a dog who is asked would he like to go for walkies

If someone nattering in your ear to distract you sounds like your idea of fun (and you live somewhere near) then I have my run shoes at the ready

Why would I need a coach?

So that you dont buy all sorts of gadgets and plans that advertisers pop up in front of you when you are googling a million running articles and tips every day

And so you have someone to call when you have a mini meltdown in race week, fretting about everything and anything

Can I do this?

You bet you can
